Our latest recommendation by Animal Charity Evaluators celebrates more than a milestone; it celebrates a movement. This recognition is thanks to every donor, volunteer, and advocate proving that compassion backed by strategy changes everything for animals.

Protestors holding placards

Every victory for animals shows what’s possible when compassion meets action. We’re honoured to be chosen by Animal Charity Evaluators as one of the most effective animal protection groups worldwide. This recognition belongs to everyone, especially you.

This recognition reflects what drives our work every day: the relentless pursuit of a world where no animal suffers for food. Animal Charity Evaluators (ACE) spotlights groups creating measurable change for animals, and we’re the only organisation to receive this distinction every year since ACE started evaluating animal charities in 2014.

What this win says about our work

ACE does its homework. Their team digs deep into transparency, cost-effectiveness, and long-term impact before naming an organisation a Recommended Charity.

Cost-effectiveness is all about doing the most good with every pound. That’s why every gift matters - and why we’re committed to making your support go as far as possible to end the abuse of animals on factory farms. ACE looks at how efficiently groups turn resources into real wins for animals, because impact shouldn’t come with a big price tag.

For us, that stamp of approval means something real: proof that our mix of corporate campaigns, policy change, and grassroots action is making a measurable difference for animals. Especially in a cause that too often goes overlooked in the fight for a kinder world.

But the real credit goes to the people behind it all: our global team, generous donors, relentless volunteers, and every advocate who believes compassion is a force worth organising around.

Compassion’s having a moment

This year, we saw real momentum for animals - proof that compassion and persistence make a pretty unbeatable team.

Four out of every five hens in the UK are now free from a cage - when around half were caged just a decade ago. That means millions of hens get to spread their wings, dust-bathe, and live out their natural instincts.

More than 2,400 companies around the world have also committed to sparing hens from cages and our Open Wing Alliance now spans 90+ partners across six continents, moving us closer to a cage-free future worldwide.

And the wins didn’t stop there. All major UK supermarkets have now moved to give their chickens more space, and we’re continuing to pressure them to move away from cruelly-bred Frankenchickens.

Each of these wins tells the same story: when we organise, expose cruelty, and demand accountability, animals win. And the movement moves forward.

Spoiler: we’re not done yet

Our work doesn’t stop here. Support from ACE’s recognition helps us expand campaigns, push for stronger welfare laws, and keep supporting a global movement to end factory farming for good.

To our community: thank you for every action, every share, every gift. This recognition belongs to you, too. Let’s keep taking action to help hens in need.
