For Businesses

We're here to help. Our team is available to discuss your transition to higher welfare standards, and we would be happy to provide guidance on best practices and assist with any questions you may have.

Our Approach

The Humane League UK is an award-winning animal protection charity that works with leading companies to eradicate the worst forms of animal cruelty through the adoption of public and transparent policies. Our work is focused on two key areas: Cage-Free policies for egg laying hens and Better Chicken Commitments for broiler chickens.

We have engaged with over 200 leading food companies to date, and along with our international partners within the Open Wing Alliance, secured more than 2,000 Cage-Free policies and more than 300 Better Chicken Commitments.

Cage-Free

With over 82% of the UK’s egg production meeting or exceeding Cage-Free standards, the future for the UK is Cage-Free.

Please get in touch with us if your company wants to add a Cage-Free policy to your animal welfare policy. You can email us at [email protected].

Better Chicken Commitment

The Better Chicken Commitment is the key driver of improved and higher welfare practices, setting the new minimum standard for broiler chicken welfare in the food industry.

    Our Movement

This is the key to ending widespread chicken suffering

The widespread abuse of chickens has been the norm for decades. Now, with the Better Chicken Commitment, a seismic shift in the food industry has begun. A “crucial step” for companies to take, according to campaigner Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
