Together, we’ve made huge steps forwards for animals. Now, the key to ensuring these victories can never be overturned is through legislation.

The battle we are fighting—to end the use and abuse of animals for food—is no easy one. And, together, we’ve made huge steps forward for animals.
Over the years, we've taken on huge corporations, demanding widespread change, and they've adopted clear policies to eliminate the worst abuses from their supply chains.
Every major food company in the UK has now adopted a policy to end the use of cages for egg-laying hens. We're already seeing the impact this is having: the number of hens enduring life in cages in the UK is declining rapidly and steadily month on month. All because of people like you and I, fighting together.
The progress we've made for the animals cannot be overstated. But the key to achieving enduring change on social justice issues, which reaches into every corner where that injustice hides, is legislation.
Right now, in our grasp, is an opportunity to set in stone a monumental change for animals. As a movement, we have the opportunity to ban the use of cages on farms, once and for all.
The Humane League UK is joining forces with a host of other animal protection groups to support a Government petition calling for a ban on all cages for farmed animals. We need to reach 100,000 UK signatories to trigger a debate in Parliament - the first step to securing this essential law. At over 90,000 signatures, we are so close, but we need your help to get there. And even when we reach 100k, every extra signature will signal to politicians that this is an issue they simply cannot ignore.
With legislation to ban cages, no corporation will ever be able to worm their way out of a cage-free policy. No farmer will profit from one of the cruellest farming systems on earth. No hen will endure life behind bars.
So please, sign the petition today. Share it far and wide. Ask your friends and family to sign. Tell your colleagues or fellow students about it.
Thank you for standing up for the animals.
