Check out these top 5 easy fundraising tips. We're here for you.

So, you’ve decided you’re going to raise funds for The Humane League UK. You absolute star! Once you've set up your fundraiser, the next step is to ask your network to sponsor you for your challenge. Here’s our five top tips for winning over your family, friends and colleagues to become your top supporters.
Top tips for raising money for farmed animals
1. Challenge the way you think about asking for donations
I used to be really scared to ask people for money. It’s uncomfortable, right? I only changed my way of thinking when I realised that I'm not actually trying to take people's money. Rather, I'm creating an opportunity for them to do something incredible, and help out a cause worth caring about.
Now I know that I'm doing someone a favour by providing them an opportunity to do something amazing for animals through making a donation.
I also try and remind myself regularly who I’m doing this for. Fundraising ultimately isn’t for myself; it isn’t for The Humane League UK either.
In the end, my fundraiser is for those who can’t speak for themselves. For those animals that suffer on factory farms every single day. I think you'll agree those innocent individuals are worth a little bit of discomfort when asking for money.
2. Dare to be emotional
Now that you’re clear about your own motivation to ask people for money, think about how you can help them understand the urgency of the cause.
You can use content on our website to explain why animals need help. But it is important to keep in mind that when you are sharing with your friends and family, they will likely be inspired by your personal story. Why is your fundraiser a big challenge for you? What is your personal connection with our charity, or with farm animals? Tell them all about your motivation and passion, it's sure to inspire them to donate.
3. Demonstrate the impact of their gift
We all want to know how our donation money is being used. After all, we are keen to make sure our gift is helping where it is needed the most.
This is why, when promoting your fundraiser, it can be helpful to explain that all of The Humane League UK’s work is rooted in sound research and a commitment to effective animal protection.
The Humane League has been chosen as one of the most effective animal groups worldwide by Animal Charity Evaluators; we are the only organisation to receive this distinction for every rating period.

4. Make use of all your channels A Facebook post is a fantastic start to sharing your fundraiser. However, not all of your personal connections may have an account, or use this network frequently.
To set your fundraiser up for success, really spread the word. Share it on X and Instagram, or whichever social media platform you are active on. Send the link to your fundraiser via text message, WhatsApp or email to your contacts.
The more exposure your fundraiser gets, the more people are likely to donate.
5. Don’t be afraid to ask twice In an ideal world, all your supporters will see your call for donations and immediately leave a gift for your fundraiser. However, be prepared for several supporters to tell you ‘Sure, I’ll donate!’ - and then forget to actually make this donation.
This is understandable, life can get busy. Which is why they will probably be grateful if you remind them of your fundraiser again in due time.
The same goes for posts on social media. If you only share your fundraiser once, some of your followers might not even notice it on their feed. If you share it weekly, you can make sure no one misses out on an opportunity to make this world a better place for farm animals!
