Millions of hens like Beatrice are being used for their eggs and more than 90% of these being kept in cages.

Male chicks are considered a waste product by the industry, as they don't lay eggs. Each year, around 29 million male chicks, just hours old, are killed in the UK—and as many as seven billion chicks globally.
Over the last few years, we've worked with animal protection organisations around the world to convince as many companies to go cage-free as possible. Now we're turning to the law to ban cages for good.
